NTP Townsville Receives a Training Award!
On Thursday 10th November, Brian and Chris from the Townsville branch attended the 2011 TEC-NQ Awards Night at Jupiters Casino.
School based apprentice, Jessica Greer was nominated for the Year 12 Heavy Vehicle Student of the year Award and was just pipped at the post and awarded runner up, which was a fantastic effort in a class of 78 students.
The main reason for attending the event was to support Jessica; however you could have knocked them over with a mango leaf when the final awards were announced.
Each year there are only two awards presented to Employers. The first one is for Large Employer of the Year and was won by Sucragen Sugar and the next was for Small Employer of the Year, which to their surprise was won by NTP Forklifts Australia!
Brian accepted the award in front of a crowd of about 1000 and was very pleased and at the same time humbled to receive the award on behalf of not only the Branch but the Group as a whole.
In an email received from TEC-NQ the following day, it was noted that there is no one else out there with NTP's enthusiasm and dedication to the development of apprentices. This is fantastic feedback for the Townsville branch, well done!!
