Galipo Foods seek 10 Jungheinrich Forklifts to optimise warehouse efficiencies
Galipo Foods have come a long way since operating out of four domestic refrigerators and freezers in Sebastian Galipo’s home garage in 1983. Voted number one Foodservice Distributor in Australia in 2014, 2016 & 2017 by FSAA (Foodservice Suppliers Association of Australia), the same family business are now a one stop shop for the foodservice industry with over 6,500 different products and 44 delivery trucks servicing South Australia. Their customer base includes cafes, restaurants and hotels, aged care homes, school canteens and sports clubs.
Galipo Foods complex production facility sees 30 forklifts already in operation. The conditions throughout the facility are varied consisting of fridge and freezers, yard and loading bays and drive in racking. Facing these complexities, Jungheinrich Sales Representative found the solution with a combination of Jungheinrich counterbalance trucks, reach trucks and pallet movers.
All trucks are equipped with modern 3-phase AC technology, which means longer operating times and low power consumption thanks to their high efficiency and energy recovery during braking; a requirement for Galipo’s multi-shift operation.
The EFG 216kn 3 wheel counterbalance truck, with a 1600kg capacity, is the high performance truck Galipo Foods require. The truck possesses maximum manoeuvrability and a tight turning circle, ideal for their loading area. Operator comfort has been taken care of with the ergonomically designed workstation. Even during long shifts, operators can feel comfortable and relaxed by easily adjusting the operating position and controls, easy steering, limited vibrations and clear view of the load.
The compact and ergonomic design of the ETM 216 is the solution for Galipo’s narrow drive in racking. Residual capacities of 1600 kg and more than 10 metres lift height ensures Galipo can maximise their warehouse floor space. This unit is complimentary to their 10 new ETV116n trucks. Similar in tonne and lift capacity but slightly wider in dimension than the ETM, 5 of the ETV trucks will be used for general warehousing and stacking duties. The other 5 are fitted with cold store specifications allowing these units to be utilised in the fridge and freezer facilities. The special cold store design can be operational in conditions as low as -30 degrees, providing reliable protection for the operator and truck technology simultaneously.
The versatility of the ETV C20 allows this truck to be used for indoor or outdoor use. The super-elastic tyres and high ground clearance allows Galipo Foods to transport goods from the smooth concrete floor inside their warehouse to the asphalt surface in the loading dock. This design makes for efficient and cost-effective stacking.
Galipo Foods fleet also includes 2 EJE 116N electric pallet trucks for stacking and transporting tasks over short periods.
