NTP Forklifts Australia appoints new dealer in eastern states

Tuesday, 19th October 2004

Leading national materials handling distributor NTP Forklifts Australia has strengthened its presence in the eastern states with the appointment of the Lencrow Group as a TCM dealer for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The appointment, effective 1 October, sees the Lencrow Group operate alongside the local NTP branches in the three cities and forms part of NTP Forklifts Australia’s strategy to take the TCM product to all corners of Australia, establish an extensive dealer network and back product excellence with a choice of exceptional after sales service and support.

Since taking on the TCM distributorship in 1997, NTP Forklifts Australia has helped to position TCM as Australia’s fastest growing brand, with a 10% market share. TCM manufactured Japan’s first industrial forklift in 1949 and became the first Japanese brand to enter the Australian market in 1964. It offers one of the most technologically advanced and extensive product ranges, with the forklift family now comprising 118 LPG, diesel engine and battery electric forklift trucks with capabilities ranging from one tonne to 43 tonnes.

The Lencrow Group is a recently formed conglomeration of some of the country’s most reputable and successful forklift companies – among them Nomad Lift Trucks in NSW, Hi-Lift Materials Handling in Queensland and Pro-Fork in Victoria – and boasts over 27 years – experience representing manufacturers such as Mitsubishi and Nissan.

NTP Forklifts Australia’s Managing Director, John Naffine, said the appointment was significant for his company.

”We‘re delighted to have the Lencrow Group on board in these three key locations and look forward to a strategic partnership that delivers real benefit to all parties, not least our current and future customers. With this decision, the Lencrow Group has given the quality and reputation of the TCM brand a significant vote of confidence.”

Lencrow Group Managing Director Ross Grassick echoed these sentiments, stressing that the relationship plugs a sizeable gap in the Group’s offerings.

“While our reputation with our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane customer base has always been good, we felt we lacked the support of a good supplier that had a proven product range to meet their varying needs. Particularly appealing was the NTP Forklifts Australia business ethic of honesty and integrity, along with TCM’s strength in the large 43-tonne container handling forklift sector,” he explained.
